A very good day to be a Mommy

Today was a day that I won't forget for a long time. Lots of things happened. good things.
1. I felt horrible when I woke up this morning. I could barely swallow my throat hurt so bad. I took some medicine and conked out until I heard Bre say " Hey Mommy". I looked down and Adam had already gotten her completely ready for church. I then heard him arguing with Eli in the next room. Adam said "bud, why don't you want to go to church?". Eli said " because I want to stay here and do things for mom so she doesn't have to get out of bed". Then he started crying. Adam took the kids onto church and I got up and got ready, so I could at least go to Sunday school. When Adam went to pick Eli up after sunday school his teacher said that he was so sad all morning, that he barely spoke and that he wanted them to pray for his momma to feel better.......make your heart melt huh :). He prayers were answered and I feel fine now :).
2. On the way home from church Bre was mumbling something and I said " what?". Eli said " Mom, she said she wants to kiss a dolphin".....DUH!!!!
3. We took the kids to a water park tonight and Eli and Bre just laughed and played. Eli rode this one slide at least 20 times, maybe even more. He also told me that everyone was staring at my large bruise on my leg the whole time :).

Two sad things happened today too...
1. Eli later told me today that he never wanted me to get sick because he didn't want to be taken away from us. I can't go into details but he thinks that is one reason why he was taken away from a past placement. I promised him that no matter how sick I got that his Dad would be there to take care of him and vice versa. I also told him that even if I was bed-ridden with sickness the rest of my life that I would be his mom. I love that he doesn't want to leave us but hate that he still has those bad memories.
2. On the way home from the water park both Eli and Bre just sang and sang. I started singing "the itsy bitsy spider" and doing the hand motions, thinking at least Eli would sing along. He said " wait, what is that song, I never heard it". My heart broke......he didn't know that song or "twinkle twinkle little star" . We literally spent the next 30 minutes going over and over each song until he got them. He was sooo happy to learn them. It makes me wonder what else he missed out???

Playing catch up

I still feel like we are playing catch up from being gone sooooo long. Today we went and caught up with several friends and boy was it nice. We walked around seminary and stopped at several places to just chat and hug a neck. Then we met Dad for lunch and that was super fun too.
Funny story-There is a Korean lady named Ruth that I befriended our first year here at the gym. She and I would do abs together almost every time and her intensity always made me die laughing. Well then she and Adam had a class together and apparently she thought he was quite the looker. So today when we were eating at the seminary she was there working as the cashier in the cafeteria. We didn't buy lunch there but we ate in the cafeteria for air condition. She saw Adam and I together and was amazed. She kept saying that she didn't realized that we belonged to each other and now she had to tell everyone that Adam was off the market. Then she suddenly realized we had two kids with us and said " are they yours?". We said yes, we adopted them in February and she was at a loss for words. She kept telling Eli how he had two "good-looking" parents and he was so lucky. We were laughing so hard at this point. She ran over to the dessert counter and brought us three pieces of carrot cake with icing and chocolate drizzle and said " free dessert". We told her Thank You and then when both Eli and Bre said "thank you" in their sweet sweet voices she said " Im speechless, you do good".....     :)
We also went to Chic Fil A today dressed as cows....why? because if you did you got a free meal....I MEAN FREE...and I MEAN MEAL....chicken sandwiches, fries and drinks!!!! and ice cream for the kids, all for FREE!!!!!  So El i and spent most of the afternoon making four cow costumes....you'll love these pictures. I will upload them later. I am slowly catching up on pictures and videos. Sorry.

Getting things done

Today we all slept until 8:30------THANK YOU PERSON WHO INVENTED BLACK OUT CURTAINS!!!. We bought them for Bre's room yesterday and it not only keeps all the heat out of her room ( hers is the front room and it gets sizzlin) but it also keeps it dark until you turn the light on.....haha, we tricked her into sleeping in!!! Of course, we didn't put her down for a nap today but who cares....we slept in!!!!!!!!

We went on a tour of a potential pre-school for her for next year too. Adam is only taking classes on MWF so we only need part time care. We love love love the Primrose school we looked it. It's structured, they serve healthy meals, they are accredited, they go above and beyond standards and they are less than a mile from my school. We are still looking at some others ones just because it cost so stinkin much but we were super impressed. They fell in love with both of our kids there and really wanted us to enroll Bre :), who wouldn't?

We also went by my classroom so I could fire a load of pottery from clay camp and to check on the progress of some projects. I have a new backsplash, new shelving and recovered chairs....YAY!!

Then we went to the pool for an hour and swam those kids crazy!!!!!  Eli is talking a water camp next week and we are also signing him up to start Tae Kwon Do in August at Adam's school.
